Merilia felt exhausted.
She had no past. She had not future. She was not living the moment.
She was alone in the vast sequence of universes. She looked at
Metilius. She tried to see a slight sign of hope in his eyes. There
was nothing. She was about to lose all her power. The game was over.
Kara had won. There were no exit from the darkness they were locked
in with Met and with all human beings of their time. Their only
choice was accepting the power of Kara and her Skin System. Their
only choice was bending down in front of Kara and asking for mercy.
The game was over. The game was over. The game was over. Meri hugged
Met tightly. She tried to stop the tears in her eyes. She tried to
find a small gap where she could proceed in her way to the future.
"We didn't deserve
this," she murmured. "We did everything we could do. We
didn't deserve this." She tried to see how they had come to this
point. She collected some additional information to fill in the gaps
and to see a picture of how they came to this point.
Meri had been included in
most of the recent projects. The developments were too fast, most
people were even not able to notice what was going on. Meri was
almost completely tracing every detail in most of the processes. The
achievements were promising. She did not remember when she heard
about GHN, but it was wonderful to interact with and meet members
from Global Human Network. Meri was not able to trace the founder of
GHN, it was like a game played in a labyrinth. All elements of GHN
were connected to each other, but at the same time, they had no
direct contact with any other member. The effect of GHN was like the
changes witnessed after exploitation of printing machinery,
electricity, wired and radio frequency communication, computing and
automation technologies, Internet of Things, and many other new age
triggers. Maybe for the first time in their history, humans were now
able to connect with positive values only. GHN was growing, it had no
alternative, Individual conflicts were easily being resolved. The
majority of the world population was conscious and supporting GHN.
Kara was also a keen supporter of GHN. Almost all of the humans and
existing other species as well as resources had been recorded in the
Main Knowledge Management System, Optimizing algorithms were perfect,
they were creating incredible results. Even biggest problems of the
past were being solved easily and quickly. Some discussions of the
past were being performed with new definitions, references, and limit
conditions. Two basic questions were "What should we take from
and give to the universe? Which media should we use for
communication, matter or energy?"
Meri remembered the
discussions during the critical period. Most of the researchers
including Meri were on the energy side. They believed it was easier
to control and preserve their systems through energy. Kara was alone
at the beginning. She was insisting on the importance of matter. "We
can't ignore matter," she was telling. "When matter is
gone, we are finished. We must build our systems based on matter.
This is the only way for surviving longer."
Kara's arguments initiated
long discussions. Meri had never thought that Kara's approach could
gain support. It was obvious for her. The power of the universe were
declaring the best possible choice. It was light, not the inevitable
black hole. They all had to protect energy to live longer. Not to be
lost in total darkness. Not to reach an end with known and unknown
means of death. To live freely and happily within the space and
allocated for them. Trying to discover new spaces and new times
within their limits. If they can succeed, to start new lives in other
times and other spaces.
"Why?" asked
Meri to herself. "Why? Why? Why?"
She waited for a god to
talk.
"Don't ask Meri, just
look at Met. Just see him. See everything you can see. Listen to the
voices of the universe. Try to forget and remember time. Believe in
me, you will find out what is beyond the limits."
Nobody talked. Meri hugged
Met, kissed him, touched him, caressed him, kissed him, hugged him,
she tried to kiss every point on his existence. She expected to
receive a response from Met. He was smiling lovingly, but Meri was
not sure whom he was he looking at what he was seeing.
The technical details
during the long conflict between Kara and others, between matter and
energy were quite complex. Even Meri, who was one of the few people
who could understand what was exactly going on, was not able to
understand the overall system interface and see the strategies and
tactics being applied with opponents. She was just trying to be a
part of the human side, to protect life and future. She was trying to
minimize her negative effects on the universe through their interface
through available systems. She had worked for Virtual Interface
Management which she believed to be a very important project., for
quite a long time. VIM was trying to optimize matter and energy flow
at all cells, whether they are organic, inorganic, or virtual. If
Kara had not gained too much reputation and power, they would
probably be able to complete the project soon for a happy future for
all life forms. However, they had considerable successes in GHN and
FC. Their final mission was to create a Future Chip to remove all
limitations of GHN. Meri was so sorry since their success was
postponed due to harsh attacks of Kara, and due to the forced silence
of humans captured in her Skin System. She still believed that they
would find a way to redefine the game for defeating Kara. The
solution was probably between Meri and Met. Kara would not be so
interested in Selim if had not seem some special risks for her
system. But where was the hint for Meri to solve the entire puzzle?
Could Oria help?
Meri shut down her
Interface with Met's skin. She needed to have some rest to start
again.
"Let's go and try to
have some sleep my darling," she said. "Tomorrow can be a
difficult day for us."
Met smiled. He looked in
the eyes of Meri with a great love in his eyes. Could it be possible
that his love had been recorded in his mind permanently?
