It was an incredible,
amazing view. The avenue was wide and long with windows of different
colors and different sizes located at various heights at both sides.
The lights and sounds were changing continuously as people moved
forward or backward, to the right or to the left, to high locations
or to lower regions. It was an incredible, amazing view.
People from different
origins, locations and times were walking silently with happy looks
on their faces. Their eyes were not visible to each other, but they
were seeing their common universe. The center of the wide and long
avenue with a considerable height was a square located at the middle
in all dimensions. The Futave Square were hosting all active lights
of the universe at certain intervals. The Universe they belong to was
the sum of all avenues and squares as conceived by the people. The
people was the invisible lights of life as seen in their eyes.
Avenues were coming from
and going to peripheral transfer centers located around the Futave
Square. Streets were transforming to avenues, highways and lightways.
Life was so fast that it was almost invisible.
Futave was first in
Anmeri's mind. She had tried to creat a super fast communication
system not only with known audiovisual tools, but also with new
remote interface options providing direct contact between minds. The
media of transfer was not visible, the contents of transfer packages
were not definite, the changes of the initiated signals were not
traceable. It was a communication system where everything including
senders and receivers were volatile and instable. However, the
results were promising. Anmeri had designed Futave as the flexible
communication center of the Mind System. Minders surviving with
minimum amount of material consumption would experience lives at
their choices of speed and complexity. It would cost almost nothing
to the nature. It had caused a long discussion between Anmeri and
Bakara. During a test walk in the Futave, they had played classical
chess in a virtual environment. Although they had played very fast
with very short thinking periods, it had been quite a long match. It
was very exciting at each moment. Their minds were evaluating
themselves and each other considering everything they had learned and
witnessed. Bakara had lost and asked for repeating the game in the
Futave of the Skin System. Anmeri was not much happy with this
request but she had accepted. This time, Bakara was the winner.
Anmeri had asked to play the final game face to face with a physical
board and pieces. Bakara had said it would not be much different than
the game in the Skin System. However, the result was different.
Feeling the organic parameters coming from Anmeri's skin and body,
Bakara had lost his control. It was now very difficult for him to
concentrate on the game. The signals he was receiving from Anmeri was
very different than the responses he had received in mind and skin
systems. It was not possible to describe the differences between the
three ways of their experiences, but their thoughts and feelings in
the physical world were as if they were living in another world
belonging to them. Bakara had been attracted by Anmeri to a world of
wonders, and he had lost the game soon after he had lost his control.
"Let's play another
game," said Bakara.
It was a very long kiss.
"You understand the
value of experiencing the real world with you own body, skin, and
mind. Don't you? We are not just skins."
Bakara's feelings and
thoughts were telling him to accept whatever Anmeri wanted. His pride
was rejecting this request. For a moment, he saw an absolute
meaninglessness in insisting on his personal choices. He felt clearly
that their lives and the future of their era would be much better if
they could find their ways to understand each other and communicate
productively. He was about to leave everything and start a new life
with Anmeri when he remembered the long efforts they had spent to
start the project, the time that had passed while they were
preparing the detailed project schedules and applying them, the
happiness he had reached even with the first traces of success, and
the confidence he had gained after a number of successful results. It
was not possible to put all his life aside and start an unknown
future. He was very sorry for being without Anmeri but he had no
other choice.
The future of their
avenues would be different. Anmeri and Bakara would never see the
organic existences of each other. Bakara would communicate only
through his advances skin of the Skin System. Anmeri would live
together with the minders of her choice with minimum consumption so
survive her organic life. They would both try to convince others to
support them and live like them, to make their systems stronger and
survivable. They would both miss each other in all their remaining
lives.
"I would love to be
with you her for all the rest of my life," said Bakara.
"I know my darling,"
said Anmeri. "I would also be with your organic existence but I
can't imagine a living an infinite life together with a skin. I am so
sorry. I wish we could think parallel about time and universe, light
and darkness, life and death."
"I wish you could see
the beauty of infinity," said Bakara.
"I wish you could see
the power and wonders of limits," said Anmeri.
Their last game was long
and unforgettable.
They both knew that it
would be their final touch to each other. They wanted to play each
moment with maximum inclusion, they tried to create a lifetime memory
to remember the power of their connection always. Their dances and
songs, their voyages and returns, their words and silences, the
infinite level connection occurred between their minds and skins, and
souls and bodies carried them to a level yet not defined.
"I wish I could
remember and live this scene again with you for all the rest of my
life," they both said at the same moment.
